# Account reviews

> What we check before you can take payments, and how long it takes.

Before you can take payments, our team reviews your account by hand, usually within one business day. This keeps Crosspoint safe for you, your customers and every other seller.

## What we check

We look at four things:

| What | What we're looking for |

| Your organization | Your details are complete and accurate. |
| Your product | What you sell is clear and fits our [acceptable use policy](https://staging-docs.crosspoint.finance/merchant-of-record/acceptable-use/introduction.md). |
| Your identity | The organization owner is [verified](https://staging-docs.crosspoint.finance/africa/identity-verification.md). |
| Your payout account | Your [payout account](https://staging-docs.crosspoint.finance/africa/payout-accounts.md) is a bank account (Nigeria) or mobile money wallet in your own verified legal name, or an approved stablecoin wallet. |

> **Set things up fully before you submit.** Clear product details, a website and a support email make the review faster.

## How identity verification fits in

Identity verification is part of the review. Until your identity is verified and your organization has been reviewed, your account isn't activated: customers can't pay you yet.

* **In Nigeria**, BVN verification is instant.
* **In every other African country**, our team reviews your ID by hand. Your status shows **Pending** until then, and we email you when it's approved or rejected.

## Submitting for review

When everything on **Finance > Account** is ticked, click **Submit for review**. The page then says **Our team is reviewing your account**. We email you when you're approved, and you can start taking payments straight away. If we can't approve your account, we email you why.

## Later reviews

As your sales grow, we take another look at your account now and then. You keep selling while we do. Payouts you request in the meantime are **held** until the review is done, then they move on like any other payout.

## Getting ready

**1. Complete onboarding**

Fill in your personal details, business details and product details.

**2. Verify your identity**

Use your BVN (Nigeria) or upload an ID (every other African country). You can do this from **Finance > Account**.

**3. Add a payout account**

Add a payout account from **Finance > Payouts**: a bank account (Nigeria) or mobile money wallet in your own name, or a stablecoin wallet.

**4. Submit for review**

Add your website and support email on **Finance > Account**, then click **Submit for review**. We email you when you're approved.

## FAQ

> **How long does the review take?**
>
> Usually within one business day. We review every seller by hand.

> **Can I take payments while I wait?**
>
> Not on your first review: checkout is turned on once you're approved. During later reviews you keep selling, and payouts are held until we're done.

> **What if my product doesn't fit the acceptable use policy?**
>
