# Merchant of Record

> Crosspoint sells to your customers on your behalf, so you can take payments from anywhere without setting up a payment company.

When a customer buys from you through Crosspoint, Crosspoint is the **merchant of record**: the business that sells to your customer and takes their payment. You make the product; we handle the money side.

## What that means for you

You don't need your own card processor or a business that card networks approve. You sign up, get your identity verified and your account reviewed, and you can start selling to customers anywhere in the world.

| Taking payments by card and wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay) | Your product and delivering what you promised |
| Receipts and invoices for your customers | Supporting your customers with your product |
| Checking payments for fraud | Your refund policy (we can still refund to stop fraud or a chargeback) |
| Handling disputes with the card networks, with your evidence | Answering disputes in **Sales → Disputes** |
| Paying your balance out in your local currency or in stablecoin | Keeping your payout account up to date |

## What your customers see

* Their card statement shows **CROSSPOINT**, so it's clear who charged them.
* Their receipt and invoice come from Crosspoint, with your store's name and product on them.
* The checkout tells them their order is processed by Crosspoint as the reseller.
