# Payout limits and verification tiers

> How much you can withdraw at each verification tier, and how to move up.

How much you can withdraw depends on how much you've verified. There are four tiers. Each one has two limits:

* a **per-payout limit**: the most you can withdraw in one payout, and
* a **30-day limit**: the most you can withdraw over any rolling 30 days.

Limits are measured in US dollars, the currency your balance is shown in. You're still paid in your local currency or in stablecoin.

## Tiers

| Tier | What you need | Per payout | Per 30 days |
| - | - | - | - |
| Tier 0 | Not verified yet | No payouts | No payouts |
| Tier 1 | Identity verified (BVN or approved ID) | \$1,000 | \$3,000 |
| Tier 2 | Tier 1 + proof of address | \$5,000 | \$20,000 |
| Tier 3 | Tier 2 + business registration | \$50,000 | \$250,000 |

## Moving up a tier

### Tier 1: verify your identity

[Verify your identity](https://staging-docs.crosspoint.finance/africa/identity-verification.md) with your BVN (Nigeria) or an ID document (every other African country). Once you're verified, you're on tier 1.

### Tier 2: add proof of address

Once your identity is verified, you can upload a proof of address.

**1. Get a recent document**

A utility bill, bank statement or government letter from the **last 3 months**. It must be in your legal name and show your address.

**2. Upload it**

Go to **Finance > Account** and open the **Verify your identity** page. Upload your document there.

**3. Wait for our review**

Our team checks it. We email you when it's approved or rejected.

### Tier 3: register your business

Once you're on tier 2, the store owner can register the business in **Settings > Account tier**, in five short steps. You'll need:

* **Business details**: the registered name, registration number (your RC or BN number in Nigeria), tax number (your TIN in Nigeria) and the business address.
* **Registration documents**:
  * **Nigeria**: your CAC certificate, MEMART (business names can upload the BN1 form instead) and a CAC status report.
  * **Elsewhere**: your certificate of incorporation, constitution or articles of association, and a register of directors and shareholders.
* **A company bank statement or proof of address** in the business name, from the **last 3 months** (for example a utility bill for the company address).
* **Every director and shareholder**: full legal name, date of birth, role, how much of the business they own, their BVN if they have one (Nigeria), and a proof of address from the last 3 months.

Files can be JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 8 MB each. Only our review team can see them. We email you when your business is approved (you move to tier 3) or if something needs fixing, and you can resubmit straight away.

## How limits are applied

* **A payout always withdraws your whole available balance.** You can't choose a smaller amount.
* If your balance is **more than your per-payout limit**, the payout is refused and you'll see why.
* If the payout would take you **over your 30-day limit**, it's refused and you'll see why.
* The 30-day window is rolling. It looks back 30 days from the moment you request a payout.
* Payouts that are **Pending**, **Held for review**, **In Transit** or **Succeeded** count toward your 30-day limit. **Canceled** and **Failed** payouts don't.

If a payout is refused because of your limits, move up a tier to withdraw it.

## FAQ

> **My balance is over my per-payout limit. What can I do?**
>
> Because a payout always takes your whole balance, you'll need to move up a tier to withdraw it. Add [proof of address](#tier-2-add-proof-of-address) to reach tier 2.

> **When does my 30-day limit reset?**
>
> It doesn't reset on a fixed date. It's a rolling window, so each payout stops counting 30 days after you requested it.

> **Does a failed payout count toward my limit?**
>
> No. Failed and canceled payouts don't count. The money goes back to your balance.

> **My proof of address was rejected**
>
> You'll get an email. Check that the document is from the last 3 months, is in your legal name and clearly shows your address, then upload again.
