Who can use Crosspoint
Two things need to be true:- You live in Africa. The country in your personal details must be an African country.
- Your organization is in Africa. The country of your organization must also be an African country.
Countries
All 54 African countries are supported. We group them by region below. How you get paid
You’re paid in your local currency, or in stablecoin if you prefer. We never pay out in US dollars.
Your balance is tracked in US dollars so sales in different currencies add up in one place. When we send a payout, we convert it to your local currency at the exchange rate on the day we send it. Stablecoin payouts are sent in USDT or USDC. See Payout accounts.
Currencies you can price in
Each organization has a default payment currency: the currency your prices are set in and your customers are charged in. It can be US dollars (USD), which is the default, or one of the African currencies below. Whichever you choose, you’re still paid out in your local currency.Pricing in these currencies isn’t available yet
Card payments are processed in a fixed set of currencies, and these aren’t in it yet, so they can’t be your default payment currency:- Ghanaian cedi (GHS)
- Sierra Leonean leone (SLE)
- Tunisian dinar (TND)
- Libyan dinar (LYD)
- Sudanese pound (SDG)
- South Sudanese pound (SSP)
- Eritrean nakfa (ERN)
- Mauritanian ouguiya (MRU)
- São Tomé and Príncipe dobra (STN)
- Zimbabwe gold (ZWG)
These countries are fully supported. Sellers there sign up, sell and get paid like everyone else: set your prices in USD (or another currency from the list), and you’re still paid out in your local currency, for example cedis in Ghana, or in stablecoin.
Next steps
- Verify your identity so you can get paid out.
